Dr. Jan Slezak, Hydrogeologist and Geologist, looks back to more than 30 years experience in relevant international and national roles, including Uranium Resource Specialist at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and ISR specialist at DIAMO, the Czech Uranium mining sector.
Before he became Associate to GeoEnergy Consult he worked in different positions starting as mine geologist, continuing as head of geology section, than department and also as international cooperation specialist at uranium mines and especially at the ISR Straz Mine in the Czech Republic. He consulted several countries around the world on uranium mining and processing, environmental issues associated with uranium production (Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Hungary, China, Estonia, India, Jordan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan) and visted many ISR operations around the world (Australia, Kazakhstan, USA, Uzbekistan etc.).
Jan was a participant and also coordinator of the IAEA programme on majority ISR publications in the 1990s and 2000s including two IAEA URAM symposia where he served as a scientific secretary. He also was a scientific secretary of two editions of the Joint IAEA-OECD/NEA publications on Uranium: Resources, Production and Demand (Red Books).
